Internal Doors
Solid Core Construction – Foam Core
There are three core material options for our solid core doors: HMR particle board, MDF, VH grade Foam. All have various benefits which can be chosen to suit the application. These are all MDF faced which give the best paint finish. The internal frame around the door also varies for each core type.
Foam Core doors give the rigid properties of a solid core, but with the weight of a semi solid. We recommend these for sliding door panels, and quote them as standard on all project tenders with sliding doors, due to the fact that bowing doors accentuate when in a cavity pocket with straight and true opening jambs beside it. Typical internal frame around these are pine with mdf. 30mm of pine and 70mm of MDF for good screw holding and enough to fit a mortise lock if needed.
